Dear JFCS Family,

Last night, we hosted our annual event, Stepping Out with JFCS, celebrating the small (and not-so-small) miracles that happen through the services provided by Jewish Family and Children’s Service. Each year, we reserve one special evening to tell the stories of our clients and hear from them directly. Last night was no different!

Over 400 people gathered at Congregation Beth El. Our evening started with a beautiful dinner, set amongst an opportunity to further support JFCS through baskets and grand prize raffles. Raffle items were generously donated by over 100 local establishments including restaurants, salons, boutiques, and so many other local businesses and establishments. After our bellies were full and we’d met and mingled with our friends, we made our way into our educational program starting with a performance by Joyful Noise, a chorus of forty-five adults, ages 17–70, with physical and neurological challenges and acquired brain injuries. This performance truly set the stage for a magical evening!

The rest of the program was filled with stories from our clients highlighting the Rhona Fischer Family Assistance Program, the Faye Manger Counseling Department, and the 20th anniversary of SAIL, one of our Disability Services programs. Each segment highlighted the transformative work that happens within the agency. Our speakers included a young teenage girl who struggles with anxiety and depression, a SAIL participant who found her home in our Disability Services Department, and a single Israeli mother who found safe haven in South Jersey with the help of our Rhona Fischer Family Assistance Program.

We were joined by our Past Presidents, current President and President Elect who recited an inspirational poem that helped raise over $22,890. Our evening ended with a dessert reception and musical entertainment by some of our SAIL Participants.

For those of you who joined us last night, I thank you for making this event so special. It is all of you – our JFCS family – who make our world a better place. For those who missed it, a link to our clients’ testimonies is below.

Hear From Our Clients Directly

If you are interested in supporting our many JFCS services, you have not missed your opportunity! A link our Stepping Out “Giving Tree” donation is HERE.

I am so proud to lead this agency as we all work together to improve our community’s mental health, alleviate hunger, foster social connections, enable older adults to age well and live with dignity and respect, and empower people with disabilities as they reach for their full potential.

While our road is not an easy one, we don’t travel it alone. We do it hand in hand with all of you. I thank you for your steadfast dedication and support!

Wishing you peace and love on this Shabbat and every day!
