Dear JFCS Family,

As we approach the end of this week and are amidst our Passover Holiday– a holiday that reminds us to appreciate our freedom and remember our escape from religious persecution and slavery – I can’t help but reflect on the struggle that so many of our young adults face on their college campuses.

Whether we are watching the news, scrolling on social media, or reading our newspapers, we see the encampments, protests and antisemitism spreading like wildfire across the nation.   Regardless of one’s age or life stage, no one is immune to the stress and anxiety caused by discrimination and antisemitism.

Please know that our JFCS Faye Manger Counseling Program is here for you. While Jewish Community Relations Council, the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey, and our local politicians are here to combat antisemitism in our local community, we are here to help you cope with the fear and anxiety of our current environment.

If you or someone you know needs support, we are just a phone call or email away.  If you would like us to host a supportive group session, please let us know. If you just want to talk or vent, you know where to find me.

As a child of a Holocaust Survivor and a student of history, this outward display of antisemitism feels all too familiar. I know we will do everything we can to combat this hatred and I know that we don’t do it alone. I thank you all for standing by our side and making sure that history does not repeat itself.

Wishing you peace and love today and every day,
