Walking the Journey of Loss Together – Grief Support Group Begins Oct. 10

The death of a spouse or life partner is one of the most painful experiences a person may ever face. While each individual grieves in their own unique way, no one should have to go through the process alone.

As part of our commitment to supporting the mental health and well-being of the South Jersey community, Jewish Family & Children’s Service (JFCS) is here to help widows and widowers begin to heal and rebuild their lives.

JFCS will launch a new session of our Grief Support Group this fall, beginning on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 10am in person at the JFCS Main Office.

Designed for individuals aged 60 and older who have lost a spouse or partner within the past year, the program offers six biweekly meetings facilitated by a compassionate, experienced JFCS social worker. Participants will find a safe and supportive space to share their emotions, connect with others, and learn ways to navigate life after loss.

There is a $36 registration fee (scholarships are available). Advance registration is required by contacting Reva Farenback-Brateman at (856) 424-1333, ext. 1184, or rfbrateman@jfedsnj.org.

You don’t have to grieve alone.

Grant funding for the Grief Support Group is provided by the Raymond & Gertrude R. Saltzman Foundation.
