COUNSELING & SUPPORT GROUPS

At certain points in our lives, most of us will face psychological difficulties or emotional challenges. The JFCS
Faye Manger Counseling Department is here to help. Our staff of experienced, licensed therapists can help you navigate life’s twists and turns, enabling you to gain emotional strength and insight. We offer adult, child, adolescent, family, and couples counseling at convenient day and evening hours; both telehealth and in-person options are available. Most third-party insurances are accepted. FAMILY ASSISTANCE & FOOD PANTRIES

When families find themselves in a time of struggle, they can find help through the JFCS Rhona Fischer Family Assistance Program. Our compassionate and caring staff helps to find effective solutions by providing support, resources, counseling, and case management. We strive to empower individuals and families to take control of their finances and become economically self sufficient. Our domestic abuse program, Project SARAH (Stop Abusive Relationships at Home), supports domestic violence victims and their families. Our three Betsy and Peter Fischer Food Pantries offer nonperishable food and personal care items to community members in need. We also offer veterans transportation and assistance, free legal / financial consultations, and more. Tell Me More

60+ SERVICES

Our 60+ Services Program is designed to meet the complex needs of aging adults and their families. We provide affordable services that allow seniors to live independently and age in place safely, with comfort and dignity. Services include case management, individual counseling, resource consultations, patient advocacy, homemaker services, catered home delivered meals, and transportation. We also offer support groups for those experiencing loss of vision, caregivers, those who are recently bereaved, LGBT groups, and veterans’ assistance. The Holocaust Survivor Assistance Program provides financial support for home care services to eligible clients in need. Additionally, Café Europa and the Hope and Healing Workshops give Holocaust Survivors opportunities to connect with one another at social and cultural events. Tell Me More

SPECIAL NEEDS

Our Special Needs Programs are committed to enhancing the quality of life of individuals with disabilities. JFCS is guided by the philosophy that every individual should be treated with respect and dignity while pursuing a life of self-determination.  We offer employment services, culinary training, enrichment day programs, and social and recreational opportunities to assist individuals with leading meaningful lives. Our goal is to develop programs and services that help individuals with disabilities achieve their highest potential while leading independent and fulfilled lives as members of our community.  JFCS is an approved Supported Employment vendor with the
New Jersey Division of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (DVRS) and the New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD). Tell Me More

VOLUNTEER SERVICES

Volunteering at JFCS offers you the chance to expand and enrich the lives of those who are vulnerable and in need of help; gain a feeling of personal pride, satisfaction, and accomplishment; feel an increased sense of commitment to your local community; and receive love, warmth, and appreciation from those you assist. Opportunities include becoming a friendly visitor, delivering meals, driving clients to essential appointments, patient advocacy, special needs client assistance, or helping out in our food pantries.
