Jill Hammel, MSEd
Associate Executive Director

Jill brings over 20 years of professional experience in education, Jewish communal engagement, and nonprofit leadership to her role as Associate Executive Director at JFCS.

Jill’s previous roles serving as Congregational Life Director and Special Needs Coordinator at Temple Beth Sholom, a teacher and principal intern in the Cherry Hill Public School District, and other organizations have given her experience in both formal and informal educational settings, community engagement, fundraising, programming, marketing and communications, and leadership development. Jill is dedicated to applying her communal engagement experience and passion for service to advance the mission of JFCS.

As Associate Executive Director, Jill cultivates resources and support to sustain JFCS’s vital community services, working alongside the teams in the Rhona Fischer Family Assistance Program, Holocaust Survivor Services and Advocacy department, and Volunteer department. She focuses on building relationships, sharing our agency’s story, and leading projects that engage people in our mission – from donations to volunteering. Through collaborative leadership and strategic guidance, Jill helps ensure these critical programs continue to serve our community’s most vulnerable members with dignity and compassion.

Jill holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Delaware and a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania. She is also certified in special education, elementary education, and educational leadership.

Jill is proud to serve as President at Temple Beth Sholom in Cherry Hill and feels deeply connected to our community through her volunteer work. She lives in Voorhees with her husband Geoff, their three daughters Dara, Ava, and Zoe, and puppies Fred and Lou.
