Reina Sevintuna
Counseling Intern

Reina Sevintuna is a Counseling Intern at JFCS and a master’s student in Professional Counseling at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education. She works with children, adolescents, young adults, adults, couples, and families, with specialization in trauma, abuse, bullying, interpersonal violence, and complex family dynamics. Reina also works with clients experiencing generalized anxiety, social anxiety, relationship difficulties, and concerns related to social media and online experiences. Her approach is trauma-informed and collaborative, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS). Prior to joining JFCS, Reina completed a counseling internship at Nemours Children’s Hospital, where she provided individual CBT- and DBT-based therapy.

Reina’s clinical work is informed by a longstanding commitment to advocacy and supporting survivors of interpersonal violence. Before pursuing her graduate training, she worked as a Victims Assistant and Court Advocate, providing crisis intervention, court accompaniment, safety planning, and resources to survivors. She also held leadership roles in survivor advocacy at Davidson College and later worked with Penn Violence Prevention to develop psychoeducational programming focused on preventing interpersonal violence. Reina strives to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental therapeutic environment where clients feel heard and understood while developing the insight, skills, and confidence to create meaningful change in their lives.
