Susan Shipon
Susan “Sue” Shipon is a wife of 43 years to her wonderful husband, Murray, and the mother of two beautiful daughters, Mindy and Jennifer. For 35 years, she worked as a retail pharmacist at Cropwell Pharmacy in Marlton, NJ. Now semi-retired, Sue continues to work part-time as a certified geriatric pharmacist, visiting nursing homes and assisted living facilities to review residents’ medication regimens. She also is a member of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists.
Both Sue and Murray became JFCS volunteers in 2021 and continue to share their passion as dedicated volunteers. Sue describes her first volunteer role, as a Patient Partners medical advocate, as a “perfect fit.” To date, she still shares a close relationship with her very first Patient Partners client, with whom she still visits weekly and has become like family.
Over the past four years, Sue’s volunteer footprint has expanded significantly. She has generously given her time to programs including Friendly Visitors, Personal Shopper, Kosher Meal Packing and Deliveries, Holiday Meal Deliveries, Soups & Sweets, Café Connection, and the Volunteer Department’s Strategic Planning Committee. Most recently, she added Medical Rides for seniors and Take the Wheel rides for veterans to her roster. At the 2025 Annual Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast, Sue was recognized as the female volunteer involved in the most JFCS programs—a well-deserved honor.
A natural leader, Sue masterfully organizes JFCS’s weekly kosher meal packs and in June 2025, she led an art program for Café Connection. Sue also volunteers for the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey, making monthly Challah deliveries, and serves as the Treasurer of the Camden County Herzl Chapter of Hadassah. In her free time, Sue plays the piano and loves to quilt.
Sue finds deep meaning in her volunteer work—cherishing both the relationships she’s built with clients and the camaraderie she shares with fellow volunteers. JFCS is proud and grateful to have Sue as part of our volunteer family– she truly does it all!
