For many, the High Holiday season is a time of family, tradition, and togetherness. But for those who are grieving the loss of a loved one, this season can bring painful reminders and heightened feelings of absence.
To help community members navigate these complicated emotions, JFCS invites you to join The Empty Chair at Our Holiday Dinner, a compassionate workshop for Jewish individuals and families coping with loss. This program will be held at the Katz JCC from 2:30pm to 4:30pm on Wednesday, September 17. Together, we will honor the memory and life of those who are no longer with us, while seeking meaning, comfort, and resilience through the themes of the High Holidays.
This special program will be co-facilitated by Rabbi Richard F. Address, Director of Jewish Sacred Aging, and Reva Farenback-Brateman, JFCS Geriatric Case Manager & Community Educator. Participants will have the opportunity to reflect, share, and find support in community. The program is free and open to all. Light refreshments will be served.
Please RSVP to Reva by Friday, September 12: rfbrateman@jfedsnj.org or (856) 424-1333 ext. 1184
Grief is a natural response to loss, but it can feel especially heavy during the holidays. You are not alone. Join us as we create space for remembrance, healing, and hope.
