Caring for a loved one can be one of life’s most rewarding experiences, but it can also be overwhelming. Many caregivers juggle emotional, physical, and financial responsibilities while putting their own needs aside.
To help local caregivers find support and connection, Jewish Family & Children’s Service is offering a new session of its Caregivers Support Group beginning Thursday, July 16 on Zoom. This virtual group provides a welcoming space for participants to share their experiences, receive encouragement, learn practical coping strategies, and connect with others who understand the caregiving journey.
“Very few of us are prepared to become caregivers,” said Douglas Keller, the JFCS geriatric social worker who facilitates the group. “Whether you are just beginning the journey or have been providing care for years, there is no need to go through it alone.”
The group also offers education, referrals to community resources, and guidance in navigating the often-complex network of services available to caregivers.
The Summer 2026 session will meet on Zoom from 1:00–2:30 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month. Advance registration is required, and there is a $36 registration fee.
For more information or to register, contact Douglas Keller, MSW, LSW, at (856) 424-1333 ext. 3822, or dkeller@jfedsnj.org.
This group is sponsored by Samaritan Life-Enhancing Care, with grant funding from the Raymond & Gertrude R. Saltzman Foundation.
