JFCS Earns National Re-Accreditation through COA, a Service of Social Current

Jewish Family & Children’s Service (JFCS) of Southern New Jersey is proud to announce that we have earned national re-accreditation through COA Accreditation, a service of Social Current. This achievement reflects the agency’s ongoing commitment to providing high-quality, compassionate services and support to individuals, families, seniors, and communities throughout Southern New Jersey.

Re-accreditation is the result of an intensive yearlong review process that evaluates every aspect of an organization, from governance and operations to service delivery and client outcomes. Through this process, JFCS demonstrated its commitment to excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement in the services they provide.

For the individuals and families who turn to JFCS for support, accreditation provides assurance that our programs are effective, responsive, culturally competent, and grounded in proven best practices. It also reflects our commitment to maintaining a skilled, supported workforce and continually strengthening the services upon which our community relies.

To achieve re-accreditation, JFCS submitted extensive documentation demonstrating compliance with 675 COA standards. In June 2026, a team of specially trained peer reviewers conducted an on-site visit, meeting with board members, volunteers, staff, and clients to see those standards in action. Following the review, Social Current’s volunteer-based Commission determined that JFCS had successfully met all of COA’s requirements.

“This recognition is a testament to the dedication, professionalism, and compassion of our staff, volunteers, and lay leadership,” said JFCS Associate Executive Directors Melanie Stoopler and Jill Hammel. “Most importantly, it demonstrates our commitment to delivering the highest quality services to those who turn to JFCS for support. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to Sherri Jonas, Senior Director of Special Projects and Volunteers, who led us through the entire process with extraordinary expertise, dedication, patience, and grace.”

The accreditation was awarded through Social Current, a leading partner for human and social service organizations that helps strengthen agencies through accreditation, training, consulting, policy leadership, and advocacy. To learn more, visit www.social-current.org.

While we are proud to celebrate this milestone, re-accreditation is not the finish line. It is an ongoing commitment to learning, growth, and excellence across every department of our agency. As community needs continue to evolve, JFCS remains dedicated to strengthening our programs, deepening our impact, and advancing our life-affirming mission throughout Southern New Jersey!
