Uncovering Queer Figures with the Library Company of Philadelphia

June 11 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Discover hidden queer history in the rare books and graphics at the Library Company of Philadelphia. This presentation will take you through the 18th and 19th centuries, highlighting both well-known and lesser-known figures. Learn how they lived as queer individuals in challenging times and how we can understand their stories today.

This fascinating program will be presented by Em Ricciardi, the Cataloger and LGBTQ+ Subject Specialist at the Library Company of Philadelphia. They catalog the Library Company’s printed materials, including books, broadsides, sheet music, and periodicals. They also curate the Library Company’s Queer History Collection, which includes both printed materials and graphic items.

This event is free and open to the public – advance RSVP is preferred by clicking HERE.

Presented by the Library Company of Philadelphia, in partnership with JFCS, the Cherry Hill Public Library, and Cherry Hill Township.
