The loss of a son or daughter is one of life’s most profound and life-altering experiences. Grief can bring overwhelming feelings of sadness, anger, guilt, and isolation, often leaving parents wondering where to turn for support.
At JFCS, no parent has to face that journey alone.
The JFCS Parental Bereavement Support Group offers a compassionate space where bereaved parents can connect with others who truly understand their loss. Founded in loving memory of three South Jersey community members – Matthew Bandler Minches, Jamie Brooke Lieberman, and Joel Lawrence Weiner- the program grew from the vision of three mothers who transformed their own grief into a lasting source of comfort and hope for others.
Since 2014, more than 65 bereaved parents have found understanding, connection, and support through this group. Participants build meaningful relationships, learn healthy coping strategies, and discover strength in a community that understands the unique experience of losing a child.
A new eight-week cohort begins Wednesday, October 14 at 3:30 p.m. at the JFCS Main Office. Thanks to the generous support of the Sharing and Healing While Mourning Our Children Foundation, participation is free of charge.
If you or someone you know have experienced the loss of a child, we encourage you to reach out to JFCS and join this compassionate and nonjudgmental group. You don’t have to walk this path alone.
Advance registration is required. To learn more or register, contact Rebecca Rosenau at (856) 424-1333, ext. 1702, or email rrosenau@jfedsnj.org.
