At Jewish Family & Children’s Service (JFCS), we believe no one should have to navigate grief alone. While loss is a natural part of life, the death of a spouse or partner can be especially life-changing, often bringing feelings of isolation and uncertainty about the future.
To help individuals find support and connection during this difficult time, JFCS is launching a new Grief Support Group for Widows & Widowers beginning Tuesday, September 15. Designed for those who have lost a longtime spouse or life partner within the past year, the group offers a safe, facilitator-led environment where participants can share experiences, learn healthy coping strategies, and connect with others who truly understand their journey.
Grief can feel isolating, but healing often begins with connection. Many participants find comfort in knowing they are not alone and discovering that moving forward does not mean forgetting. Rather, it means learning how to carry the loss while continuing to engage meaningfully in life. Through counseling, support groups, and practical services, JFCS remains committed to helping individuals and families navigate some of life’s most difficult transitions with compassion, understanding, and hope.
This is a six-session group that meets every other Tuesday. There is a registration fee of $36, and advance registration is required. To register, contact Reva Farenback-Brateman at JFCS: (856) 424-1333 ext. 1184 or rfbrateman@jfedsnj.org.
Grant funding provided by the Raymond & Gertrude R. Saltzman Foundation.
