Join us for Freedom Song: a Musical Production about Addiction & Recovery in the Jewish Community

Reserve your seat for a very powerful experience on Tuesday, November 12 at 6:30pm at the Katz JCC!

Jewish Family & Children’s Service (JFCS) is proud to announce that we are marking a significant milestone this year – the 10th anniversary of our “One Step at a Time” addiction awareness and prevention program. We are deeply grateful for the support and ongoing commitment of Gregg B. Wolfe, in memory of his 21-year-old son Justin Matthew Wolfe, who partnered with us to create this important program for our community’s youth.

To celebrate this special milestone, we are bringing a captivating musical performance, Freedom Song, to our South Jersey community this fall as part of the Katz JCC’s Festival of Arts, Books & Culture. The performance is interspersed with scenes from a 12-Step meeting, giving the audience an inside look at the process of recovery. Following the performance, audience members will have an opportunity to ask questions of the cast, who courageously and candidly share their own stories of addiction and recovery.

Freedom Song will examine the impact of addiction on a Jewish family while celebrating the family’s strength to accept challenges and overcome shame and fear. Audience members will have an opportunity to…

  • Confront addiction in our community’s midst
  • Shine the light of openness and honesty on a hidden, often stigmatized topic
  • Ask real questions and get real answers from cast members who have journeyed through addiction to recovery
  • Come out, stand up and support those among us who struggle with addiction

We hope you will join us on Tuesday, November 12 for Freedom Song…to be moved, educated, and empowered to be part of the solution to addiction in our community. To reserve your seats, click HERE.

There is no charge to attend Freedom Song, but advance registration is required. This experience is appropriate for tweens (age 12+), teens, adults, and seniors. Dessert reception to follow the performance.

Freedom Song has been sponsored by Gregg B. Wolfe, in loving memory of his 21-year-old son, Justin Matthew Wolfe. Grant funding provided by the Larry Lerner Memorial Endowment Fund.
