Meet Oriel Weinberg, Director of Disability Services!
How long have you been working at JFCS? It will be two years this May.
Tell us about your role. I assist our incredible Disability Services team with developing and maintaining the high standard of programming that we are well known for throughout Southern New Jersey. Our department has over 10 programs, all specialized to help individuals with different abilities increase their level of independence in the community and enhance their quality of life.
What brings you joy in your role at JFCS? I love working with such a large group of like-minded people who are mission-aligned, and passionate about the services we provide and the people we assist. I am thankful to work with an agency that has such a strong relationship with the community. Aside from our supportive administration, we are also supported by our board, our volunteers, our community partners, our Disability Services Committee, and by the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey. Everyone roots for you to succeed!
What might the community be surprised to learn about you? I know how to read the Torah for Shabbat services, I have a degree in screenwriting, and I grew up with bearded collies. You need to cut their bangs, or they will bang their heads on everything!
