The federal government shutdown has created a ripple effect that’s hitting home in South Jersey. With SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits currently on hold, thousands of local families are struggling to put food on the table. For many, these benefits are the difference between security and hunger — and the loss has been immediate and devastating.
At Jewish Family & Children’s Service (JFCS), we’ve seen a sharp surge in requests for food support. As always, our mission is to respond quickly and compassionately to anyone in need — but we can’t do it alone. We’re calling on our community to help us keep our pantry shelves stocked and our doors open to everyone who turns to us. Together, we can ensure that no one in South Jersey goes hungry.
