The death of a spouse or longtime partner is one of the most painful life cycle events most of us will ever experience. Each person journeys through grief, healing, and adjustment in their own way, but no one needs to go through it alone. Samost Jewish Family & Children’s Service (JFCS) is committed to guiding bereaved individuals through the grieving process. The agency will offer a new session of its Widows & Widowers Support Group, beginning at 10:30am on Tuesday, July 6, followed by meetings on July 20, August 3, August 17, August 31, and September 14. Participants will find an appropriate avenue for expressing their emotions, learn new strategies for dealing with grief, gain newfound hope, reduce their distress, and increase their self-understanding in a caring and professionally facilitated space. This group will meet in-person at the Katz JCC, and all COVID-19 precautions will be strictly followed. There is a $36 fee to join the group, and advance registration is required by contacting Reva Farenback-Brateman at 856-424-1333 ext. 1184 or rfbrateman@jfedsnj.org.
The JFCS Widows & Widowers Support Group is sponsored by LifeForce Caregivers for the Elderly.
