WHAT IS JFED RIDES?
WHAT MAKES THIS PROGRAM DIFFERENT?
JFed Rides reflects our shared commitment to keeping older adults engaged in the community through social, recreational, and cultural programming. Envoy America is solely focused on providing services for older adults. Each companion driver is trained to have relevant skills that are key to helping an older adult, such as how to interact with a person with memory issues. Companion drivers are First Aid / CPR certified. Envoy America’s paid companion drivers will come to the client’s door, help them get into the car, stow their transfer-wheelchair or walker, carry their bags, and walk them back to their door.
CURRENT OFFERING
JFed Rides currently offers “door through door” transportation to doctors’ appointments, medical procedures requiring sedation or anesthesia, events and programs hosted by the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey and its family of agencies, or to a place of the member’s choice. This service is open to community members of every age, faith, and background! Financial subsidies may be available for those who qualify. Envoy can be used for additional rides but fees will apply.
* SUBSIDIZED PROGRAM
Thanks to a generous grant from The Raymond & Gertrude R. Saltzman Foundation, a financial subsidy may be available. In order to qualify for the subsidy, individuals must be Jewish, age 60 and above, and reside in Camden, Burlington, or Gloucester county.
