The death of a spouse or life partner is an experience of profound pain and loss. Each person grieves, mourns, and adjusts in their own unique way, but no one should face this journey alone. In line with our commitment to mental health and well-being across the lifespan, JFCS will be offering a new session of our Grief Support Group this fall.
The first meeting will be held in the JFCS Main Office (1301 Springdale Road, Suite 150) at 10:30am on Tuesday, September 24. This group is designed for individuals aged 60 and older who have lost a spouse or partner within the past year. Over the course of six biweekly sessions, participants will find a safe and supportive environment facilitated by a compassionate JFCS social worker. The group will provide an opportunity for members to share emotions, receive support, and learn strategies for integrating the loss into their new reality.
A $36 registration fee applies, but scholarships are available. To register, please contact Reva Farenback-Brateman at (856) 424-1333 ext. 1184, or email rfbrateman@jfedsnj.org.
The Grief Support Group is proudly sponsored by LifeForce Caregivers for the Elderly, with grant funding from the Raymond & Gertrude R. Saltzman Foundation.
