This Thanksgiving, give thanks by giving back…

Please support our annual Thanksgiving Food Drive on November 13

Hunger is on the rise in America. New data released as part of the USDA’s 2022 “Household Food Security in the U.S.” report reveals that ten million more people across the country are now food insecure, including four million more children.  Sadly, we are seeing this increase in food insecurity right here in South Jersey. Jewish Family & Children’s Service (JFCS) is committed to combatting hunger in our community throughout the year. This fall, our Betsy & Peter Fischer Food Pantry has been distributing food and household essentials to almost 100 families each week – and new calls for help continue to come in every single day.

JFCS will hold its annual Thanksgiving Food Drive on Monday, November 13 from 10am to 1pm at the Rhona Fischer Family Assistance Building (6 East Miami Avenue in Cherry Hill). Your generous donation of kosher, nonperishable food will help ensure a  Thanksgiving filled with warmth and hope for our neighbors in need. Our most-needed items include mashed potatoes, canned yams, cranberry sauce, canned string beans, canned peas, canned corn, canned pineapple, stuffing, pie crust, applesauce, apple juice, and cake mix. Together, we can bring the true meaning of the holiday to those who need it most.
