Dear JFCS Family,

Helen Keller famously said that “alone, we can do so little; together, we can do so much.” This quote has always resonated with me in ways I can’t explain. Here was a woman who – regardless of her own disabilities – became an activist, a teacher, an author, and an advocate. She inspires me to continue doing the important work of bringing life-sustaining human services to our South Jersey neighbors in need.

Over the last week, I have had the opportunity to reconnect with so many of our community members at the Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey’s annual Florida reunion. When I think about our community, I am overcome with gratitude for the love, passion, and acceptance that make us so very special! Our community’s strength, resilience, perseverance, and interconnectedness allow us to shine brightly – like the sun on a summer’s day.

Each one of you is part of our village, and I am so very grateful for that. We stand united to care for one another, to stand up for what is right, and to ensure that those who are vulnerable and need assistance can find the help and support they need.

We often say that JFCS provides hope and healing for our community. While that is certainly true, I also know that we don’t do this critical work alone. We do it together, hand in hand with each one of you!

Wishing you peace and love on this Shabbat and every day!

All my best,

Raechel
