The Rhona Fischer Family Assistance Program (FAP) helps thousands in our community who need assistance securing food for their families, making ends meet, or are victims of domestic violence. With the utmost compassion and care, our dedicated staff helps to find effective solutions by providing support and resources. We strive to empower individuals, as well as families, to become self-sufficient.
Through the JFCS / JEVS (Jewish Employment & Vocation Services) Career Strategies Program, we facilitate individual support and group workshops aimed at addressing both the emotional and practical barriers to successful employment and advancing your career. We offer guidance on social media usage, professional networking, resume building, interviewing skills, and more.
Our counselors and social workers help to provide the tools and resources to help families manage finances, become economically self-sufficient, and regain control over their lives. They make every effort to connect those in need to programs and services available in the community, including healthcare, housing, nutrition assistance, legal and financial services, and job training programs.
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE PROGRAM (PROJECT SARAH)
The JFCS Domestic Violence Program Project SARAH (Stop Abusive Relationships at Home), provides multi-faceted services, which include offering resource information, safety planning, and other forms of assistance to help individuals who are victims of domestic violence and their families. EMERGENCY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
Limited cash assistance is available to families in direct economic need, on a case by-case basis, as determined by their social workers.
FINANCIAL LITERACY & LEGAL CONSULTATIONS
Several times throughout the year, we provide consultations to community members with attorneys representing a variety of legal specialties, and also provide free legal & financial referrals. Additionally, we can help provide individuals with the tools to make informed decisions regarding budgeting, debt and expense reduction, credit, and savings.
Our three Betsy and Peter Fischer Food Pantries in Camden and Burlington Counties offer nonperishable food and personal care items to individuals in need. We rely solely on community donations and grants to keep our shelves stocked. We are the only food pantry in South Jersey that is exclusively kosher. Individuals and families, regardless of race or religion, can receive food from our pantries. Tell Me More
NAVIGATOR EXCHANGE PROGRAM
The Navigator Exchange Program, brought to JFCS clients through a partnership with the Center for Family Services helps individuals by offering in-person healthcare enrollment assistance. We are passionate about helping Veterans receive the care and attention to which they are entitled. Our program, Take the Wheel, offers transportation to veterans so that they can attend doctor and wellness appointments. We also offer VA benefits counseling and resource referrals to help Veterans access and understand all of their support options so they can live a healthy life. Tell Me More
